Define the boundary first
The TET report defines efficiency as load DC power divided by input rail DC power. The STM32 is powered separately and is excluded. This boundary makes the three bench configurations comparable; it does not describe the efficiency of a complete implanted system.
Hold the comparison still
The reported comparison uses a 20 Ω load, 5 mm coil spacing and a 200 kHz carrier. Input voltage, input current and output voltage are recorded simultaneously. Output power is calculated as Vout²/R, then divided by Vin × Iin.
Read the result with its conditions
Original coils reached 38.51%; replacement coils reached 52.47%; the tuned link reached 62.00% and 1.66 W. Transfer was also confirmed at 10 mm, with approximately 37–43% efficiency. That approximate observation is not a full gap sweep.
The next measurement
Thermal instrumentation, sustained operation, gap and misalignment sweeps, and the actual heart-system power budget remain necessary. A best operating point is a baseline for that work.
